For Such a Time as This
Love Your Neighbor Ministries (LYN) was established in 2004 to assist in answering the overwhelming needs of the prison population in our community.
 
We believe that Jesus loves people in prison; and the primary need for people in prison is to know that Jesus loves them. With the help of LYN Volunteers, the beautiful message of The Gospel is being delivered.

In addition to the message of salvation, we seek to minister wholeness and healing to our clients through Biblical insight. We realize that there are those who lack understanding of the love of the Father. They are not sure of the value and blessing in serving Him.  This kind of teaching is imperative. The woundedness in their hearts must be addressed, or their relationship with God may be affected. This would allow great opportunity for the dysfunctional cycle of criminal behavior, re-arrest and imprisonment to continue.

As we partner with our Volunteers, Churches and Community Organizations, LYN is committed to provide aftercare for clients upon their release from prison. Discipleship is essential. It is the model of Jesus in relationship to His disciples. As we sow this gift of discipleship, we expect that the Holy Spirit will yield fruit that will remain.

Love Your Neighbor Ministries believes that the Lord is able to change lives broken by crime and imprisonment. He has designed that they would be changed first as they enter into relationship with Him, and second, in relationship with the Body of Believers. Both relationships are vital in the journey of the LYN client towards spiritual growth and maturity, and becoming productive citizens in our community.

Imperative, essential and vital. These words describe Love Your Neighbor Ministries. As the prison population increases, we have been called to serve for such a time as this.
